this is badly organized byt i just want to write stuff down

im wonjae (임원재 | 任?? havent decided ok), 27, virgo.

personality:

intelligent, charming, generally pleasant to be around. playful, teasing, and flirty.
unless he has reason to dislike you. he might still be sweet to your face but he's definitely manipulative and can get petty, using his charm to disarm someone before sliding in something biting.
almost too clever, the trickster in him never quite went away. tends to dislike limits and being told what he can't do.
is himself however pretty controlling, can get possessive and quite intense about it.
deeply caring and compassionate, he does care about people even if he tends to put up a bit of a front about it. is a lot more idealistic than he likes to let on, but it tends to show in his actions if not his words (i.e a lot of his business profits actually go into charitable causes).
while he usually hides it well he has a tendency to seem detached sometimes. most might interpret this as him being preoccupied with business dealings as opposed to his interpersonal life, in reality it comes more from being a very old, very lonely spirit, feeling empty and incomplete.
low key bitter about being left alone for so many lifetimes after being promised an eternity together. can get high key bitter sometimes. ultimately believes that his lord will in fact return to him, but jfc does he have to take this long.
can't quite fill the void that his lord has left, but he is very lonely and still tries, especially with how much he does care about people. in this life this has taken the form of a bit of a sugar daddy lifestyle, which lends him a sort of detached-yet-intimate relationship that suits him.
most animals tend to seem uneasy around him due to his true nature.
has powerful supernatural magic abilities, though with each life he tends to have to relearn and reacquaint himself with them again. currently he can read most mortal humans' thoughts, and can shapeshfit into a spirit form.

current human life:

his 13th reincranation since whatever the hell caused heaven and the gods to explode like that, he has no real recollection of the event.
born to their heirs of wealthy family in decline, his parents were largely absent through his upbringing after wasting away their inherited wealth. with all this dumped on him, wonjae managed to single-handedly save the company, hailed as a young prodigy. being an ancient trickster spirit helped, as he definitely used a supernatural edge or two.
generally highly regarded, but with a certain amount of caution due to his rapid success and the fact that along the way there've been a few rivals who've tried more underhanded tactics to cut him down to size. it didn't end well for any of them.
dipped in and out of schooling due to his commitments with business, but was committed to actually completing his degree and formally graduated a year ago. not that he needed it. he didn't study business, but actually, music.
a good deal of his business' success actually goes towards charity and humanitarian causes. he does of course take care of his parents, who by all means are good to him. they're just not particularly close.
trying something new this life, he's experimented with a sugar daddy sort of lifestyle for the past four or five years, he might as well put that wealth towards something that he might get use out of. so far it suits him and is helping him find some companionship and intimacy, it doesn't quite fill the void, but it will do.

istaran, guardian beast-spirit, once a wild trickster before he was tamed by sin.

shape-changing spirit whose favoured forms included a great eagle and a lion. on assuming his role by sin's side, he tended to stick mostly with avian forms to facilitate his role as guardian, watcher, and spy.
initially a trickster spirit who liked playing tricks on humans and gods alike, he found himself fond of the humans he played with. pitying the humans and their lack of perception of the supernatural was what led him to be wary of the gods, who must've been cruel to create them so blind and deaf, he would try to steal gifts and bounties from the gods from time to time.
at first this took the form of things like a good harvest or a bout of fortune, but after a while he grew ambitious enough to try and steal what he saw one of the grandest of prizes: immortality itself. spirits were long-lived but not immortal, only the gods were.
after managing to trick and wile his way past guardians and gods into the heart of heaven, he was ultimately caught by sin, lord of wisdom, who saw him for what he was and could not be swayed by tricks and lies. rather than beg forgiveness, he instead stated his case about the injustice of the way of the world, but as he was fairly bested, he would accept punishment.
sin instead, to the surprise (and chagrin) of all the other gods, offered immortality unto him willingly, as he could see a kindness in his heart even if some of his tricks and desires were selfish. all the god asked for in return was that istaran use the gift for good, not only for himself.
istaran was more than a little struck by sin's mercy and generosity, and he offered that in exchange for the immortality he could remain by the gods' side and serve him. sin, charmed by this offer, also warned that immortality could be a curse as well as a gift, that it was often dim and lonely. istaran countered that with him by sin's side, the god would never be bored or lonely again.
and so the World's First Ever Cheesy Pickup Line actually totally worked, and istaran was granted immortality and bound to sin's side.
istaran was not quite so selfless even then, while he was genuinely taken aback by the god's kindness part of him still thought that over the countless centuries perhaps he could learn more of the gods' secrets. and he did, of course, but he did not expect everything else: how he came to trust and love his lord, and how he was loved and trusted in turn.
while he existed outside of the court and was not truly a god, he still served as sin's right hand. mistrusted and disliked by the others, istaran was sometimes unhappy about being so outcast but felt at peace as long as he had sin's approval. he served as protector, guardian, advisor and spy, his familiarity with the world outside that of the gods' always coming in handy, and never hesitating to challenge even his lord whenever he felt that sin might be making an error in judgment.
he does not quite fully understand what happened during the great disaster that slaughtered all the gods, but he suspects that he was spared as he was not truly a god. he could feel his bond with his lord still present, and so he knew that sin would return someday. all he had to do was wait.
